Facility Master Plan
Every five years, Fulton County Schools creates a capital plan to address facility improvements as well as the technology, transportation, furniture and safety upgrades needed to support learning. As part of this work, the school system is creating its next Facility Master Plan.
MGT Consulting and Parsons, two education consulting firms with expertise in this area, were contracted to assess the physical condition and educational adequacy of every facility owned by the district. Their findings were shared at the March 9, 2021, School Board work session, which can be reviewed under "Resources."
During Spring 2021, the school system held a series of in-person and virtual meetings with various stakeholder groups (such as parents, teachers and staff, elected officials, and leaders in the business, faith, and non-profit communities) to share the facility planning process and to gather feedback. A survey also collected information on where FCS should focus its facility master plan priorities.
The finalized Facility Master Plan was presented to the School Board on June 8, with the School Board adopting the full Capital Plan 2027 afterwards.
The video below summarizes the facility planning process.
